| The Wilkes County Economic Development Corp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 1996 to foster and promote economic development in Wilkes County. The corporation itself is the result of a unique partnership involving Wilkes County, the towns of Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro, and the Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce. Each organization through their contributions of capital and talent is a major partner in economic development efforts in Wilkes County.
The Wilkes County EDC provides competent and dependable ombudsman services to entrepreneurs, existing businesses, and businesses expanding and/or relocating to Wilkes County alike. The services Wilkes EDC provides include business plan development, financial structuring, site selection, and permitting. The EDC also can assist in workforce recruitment, development, and training, and can also assist business in linking to the many resource partners, key contacts, and services, both statewide and regionally/nationally. In short, the Wilkes EDC will do whatever necessary to ensure your business’s success in Wilkes County.
